This quintessential Waldorf doll by Nanchen a wonderful companion for babies and toddlers.  It is lovingly made in Germany by Nanchen, with the very best materials.  The body is made from organic cotton terry and body is filled with pure wool.

The pink version of the doll has been awarded the Oko-Test seal of approval with a "Sehr Gut" or "Very Good" rating.  Oko-Test is a German publication that independently rates products to determine if they are safe for consumers, particularly in relation to health and the environment.  You can learn more about Oko-Test here.  Basically, you can be assured that when you see this symbol, you are getting the "best of the best."

 About Nanchen:

Nanchen Dolls have been lovingly stitched in a small town just outside of Kassel, Germany, since 1983. The dolls are made from materials that are sourced from strictly organic cultivation and organic farming. The faces are individually hand-painted, giving each doll its own unique character.

In addition to being snuggly and cute, Nanchen dolls meet strict safety and environmental standards. 

In 2012 Nanchen was purchased from the original owners, by two enterprising young women (Janah von Buttlar and Juliane Krueger) who as children played with Nanchen dolls. We look forward to expanding the reach of these wonderful dolls to the American market.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Care Instructions for Nanchen Dolls

If your wool filled doll gets dirty, you can first remove the coarse dirt with a brush. Since Nanchen only uses the best quality natural fibers (no polyester), heavy washing is usually not necessary.The pure sheep's wool filling is a natural fiber that can shrink, mat, or clump if exposed to hot water, harsh detergent, or strong spinning.

Light Cleaning:

  • Brush off coarse dirt gently.

Washing (if necessary):

  • Hand wash only
  • Use lukewarm water (comfortable to touch)
  • Use mild or wool-specific detergent
  • Avoid hot water, harsh detergents, and spinning

Washing Process:

  • Soak in clear water first
  • Add a small amount of mild detergent and gently move the toy in the water
  • Do not rub, brush, spin, or wring

Drying:

  • Squeeze out excess water gently
  • Lay flat on an absorbent towel
  • Reshape and move occasionally while drying
  • Wet wool smell will disappear after drying
