A Senger Camel in two sizes, made from GOTS-certified organic cotton filled with pure wool: the small comes with a removable cherry pit or grape seed pouch for warming, the large with a removable spelt pouch. Both warm gently for comfort.

Care & Safety

Remove the inner warming pouch before washing - it cannot get wet and should stay out until the wash is done.

If your stuffed animal gets dirty, you can first remove the coarse dirt with a brush. Since Senger only uses the best quality natural fibers (no polyester), heavy washing is usually not necessary.

Light Cleaning:

  • Brush off coarse dirt gently.

Washing (if necessary):

  • Hand wash only
  • Use lukewarm water (comfortable to touch)
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Avoid hot water, harsh detergents, and spinning

Washing Process:

  • Soak in clear water first
  • Add detergent and gently move the toy in the water
  • Do not rub, brush, spin, or wring

Drying:

  • Squeeze out excess water gently
  • Lay flat on an absorbent towel
  • Reshape and move occasionally while drying

Warming: Small size - warm the pouch in the oven on low heat (recommended), or in the microwave on low for a short period. Large size - warm the pouch in the oven only, on low heat, never the microwave. Either size can also be cooled in the freezer.

What does the organic cotton on Senger animals feel like?

Senger uses certified organic cotton with pure wool filling, so the feel is more natural and textured than synthetic plush. The fabric softens with handling and after a gentle wash. Avoid fabric softener — Senger recommends against it for their materials.

What age is this appropriate for?

All Senger stuffed animals are safety graded for all ages.

What certifications does Senger use?

All Senger soft toys are made with GOTS-certified organic cotton and wool.

All Senger items are also tested to comply with US toy safety standards, including CPSIA and ASTM F963 requirements.

Are all Senger stuffed animals vegan?

What sizes do Senger animals come in?

Senger "Floppy" animals come in Baby, Small, and Large.

Senger "Cuddly" Warming animals are available in Small, Large, XL, and even XXL for a couple of our biggest pieces.

Is the zipper hidden, or will my child feel it while cuddling?

Most of the warming animals have a fabric flap covering the zipper for comfort. A few have an exposed zipper instead — check the product photos if this matters to you.

What is the removable pouch filled with?

Large-size pouches are filled with spelt.

Small-size pouches come filled with either cherry pits or grape seeds.

How should I warm or cool the insert?

Large-size pouches should only be warmed in the oven on low heat - never the microwave. Small-size pouches can go in the oven on low, or briefly in the microwave on low. Either size can also be cooled in the freezer.

Do you carry other warming toys besides those offered by Senger?

Can I replace the warming insert if it wears out?

Yes, we carry a replacement cherry pit insert. It doesn't fit every animal, though - the Small Deer, Dolphin, Otter, Seal, Shell, Starfish, and Whale use a different pouch shape.
