Nanchen Organic Cotton "Garden" Rattle Dolls

I first saw Nanchen dolls back in 2001 at the Toy Fair in Nurnberg.  If there was one doll that I still remember and that made me really want to carry this line, it was organic cotton banana.  Well, that isn't entirely true, I also really liked and remember the sweet pea organic doll.  Okay, you caught me.  The I was just as much enamored with the organic cotton carrot.  There is something about these small little carrot, banana, sweet pea rattle dolls that makes you just want to smile.

The subtle Waldorf style faces peek-up from the banana peel or pea pod.  The adorable hats that have either a loop for hanging, or a knot for baby to grasp and chew.  The soft organic cotton, or knowing they are filled with pure bio wool.  All these things combine to make them the most adorable baby rattles on the market.

Back then the timing wasn't right for us, but we are glad that they are still around, and that these very dolls are still available....but I have to warn you, when I see your order come in, I might hide our stock of these little guys so I can keep them for myself! :-)

Nanchen Dolls have been lovingly stitched in a small town just outside of Kassel, Germany, since 1983. The dolls are made from materials that are sourced from strictly organic cultivation and organic farming. The faces are individually hand-painted, giving each doll its own unique character.

In 2012 Nanchen was purchased from the original owners, by two enterprising young women (Janah von Buttlar and Juliane Krueger) who as children played with Nanchen dolls. We look forward to expanding the reach of these wonderful dolls to the American market.
