When melted, the blocks have excellent working properties, and can be easily blended, layered, and polished to a beautiful sheen once cooled.

Encaustic painting is a technique dating back to Ancient Greece. The word encaustic comes from Ancient Greek meaning "burning in." Hot wax is heated and used as a medium and applied to various surfaces, such as wood, canvas, or paper. Ages 8+ with parental/teacher supervision.
