This last year we started raising chickens for eggs. Our children were amazed to see them grow from adorable young chicks, up to the awkward "teenage" phase, up to full grown chickens. Each day they are able to literally go on an egg hunt.
Still, as you can imagine, without proper precautions, those chickens are sitting prey for any number of predators. This can come in the form of eagles or other airborne predators, or from the ground by racoons or foxes.
This fox and chicken puppet is a friendly way to talk about this dynamic, in any way that you find appropriate. The fox and chicken could be friends, they could play games like hide and see, or play tag with the fox chasing the chicken. Yes, the fox could even eat the chicken up in a way that isn't scary for young children.
As far as foxes go, this is one of the safest, friendliest, most cuddly foxes around. Actually, the chicken is pretty soft and friendly too.
